Micro-Needling, also referred to as skin needling, microneedling and micro-needling, is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure using a pen with hair thin needles to cause superficial punctures in the skin. This prompts a healing response by sending collagen and elastin to the injured area and the areas around it… smoothing out minor scars, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles and promoting elasticity. Hyaluranic Acid applied to the skin is well known to promote elastin and collagen production as well. Micro-needling corrects skin problems such as: Fine Lines, Small Wrinkles, Acne Scars, Skin Laxity, Under Eye Bags, Enlarged Pores, Uneven Skin Tone etc. Visit our website: www.newmexicothermography.com/micro-needling/, or watch this 3-minute video:
In our clinic, we apply pure Hyaluronic Acid to the skin during the treatment, causing it to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin through the micro injuries. We also use a 36-pin disposable tip for better results (as opposed to the 11 or 12-pin tip used in most clinics).
How often should I do micro needling? The frequency varies with the intensity of the treatments. Our deeper, more effective treatments may be repeated about 4 weeks apart.
Is Microneedling permanent? Micro-Needling can be repeated as many times as desired without stimulating scar tissue. The results are much longer lasting than procedures like Botox.
How long does it take to see results from micro needling? Some clients see immediate results. Others, in 48 to 72 hours afterward (with the increase in collagen production) and for some clients, it takes at least four weeks to see noticeable results. The new collagen will last several years, which is why micro-needling treatments are considered a very long-lasting treatment option. Best of all, micro-needling treatments build on one another. Many clients report hearing comments such as, “you are looking younger all the time!”
Does micro needling help acne? It helps treat and smooth acne scars and can also help reduce the re-occurrence of acne breakouts. How exactly it does this is not well understood, but it’s thought to be a result of the reduction in sebum production which makes the skin less oily.
