Time for Kindness and Compassion
by Grace Talley-Bailey
Living is not solitary. We do not come from a test tube (although some may have started that way), we are all birthed from a human body. Few adults select a life of the single guru or hermit. The majority select to live a full life in the company and community of peers and family.
Unfortunately, as we experience the effects of forced isolation due to Covid, growing contempt towards others, and division running rampant in our country now, I fear we are forgetting our purpose. Our purpose, as I am guided to write, is not to sneer at one another, turn away, or speak and show actions of anger and hate. Our purpose is to grow in love, share that growth, and support others.
We all share this city, county, state, nation, continent, planet, Earth. We all have the same final goal; to live a life that mattered.
So, ask yourself; “when my life is over, how will I measure it? By the anger I held towards humanity and all life? Or by the kindness I bestowed towards my fellow humans and everything on earth?”
When that time comes, you will not think about the money you made or saved for retirement; but that you loved well and cared for those who relied on you. It is not that you drove a new car; but that you provided means for others to grow and learn. It is not that you had fancy clothing, shoes, hair, nails, makeup; but that you smiled with you entire being when you greeted your loved ones and even your foes.
Our living should matter. And this holiday season, please celebrate in joy! Make each breath, each footprint upon this Earth, Gaia be meaningful. Live with an open heart, in joy and celebration.
