by Zulema Arroyo Farley (also available in Spanish as Muchísimo más)
From a modest Puerto Rican childhood to moonlit feasts on Bora Bora, Chanel Fashion Shows in Paris to hospital scrubs, parachuting from 15 thousand feet to diving into the cutting edge of orphan cancer research, The Latina Medium, Zulema Arroyo Farley, refuses to let a rare form of cancer, sexual harassment, and chronic illnesses determine her destiny.
In So Much More, Zulema transforms her harrowing tale of survival and pain into a high-octane memoir that is a heartfelt book of wisdom and an inspiring life advocacy guide. “Whatever you are going through, you can still live your best life; you are in control” she says.
On Zulema’s third date with the British man who is now her husband, they created a Life List of extraordinary adventures they would share, including luxurious world travel and, as avid wine collectors, traveling the top wine regions in Europe and the United States to meet with their favorite producers. Enormously successful, well-respected in business, and madly in love, Zulema was living a fairy tale. Then, less than two years into their marriage, the Life List took on a shocking, dizzying urgency when Zulema was diagnosed with sarcoma, an exceedingly rare and incurable cancer. Throughout her life, she has suffered complex, hard-to-diagnose medical conditions and illnesses and endured thirteen surgeries. Courageous, resilient, and undaunted, Zulema draws on the strength of her joie de vivre, fearless character, and her husband, to face her challenges. Despite all the excruciating physical and mental pain, setbacks, and personal struggles, Zulema remains steadfast to suck the marrow out of life.
And, in 2018 she revealed a lifelong well-kept secret: She’s a psychic medium. After years of seeing, hearing, and sensing presences that others couldn’t, she learns to trust them through her hardest times and channels her gift to serve the good of all concerned. Her healing message is: There is always so much more to live, to love, to learn, and to create.
Her unquenchable thirst for life and brave, achingly honest journey will captivate every reader.
In October 2019, the Artz Cure Sarcoma Foundation (ACS) is hosting its 3rd benefit art and wine auction in Manhattan. Following Zulema’s own sarcoma diagnosis in February 2015, she founded ACS to create awareness and raise research funds to develop targeted chemotherapy options for this rare, orphan and very deadly cancer. ACS strives to be the catalyst that drives the availability of pharmaceutical treatment options since none currently exist, and the primary fundraising pillar utilizes art to bring hope to this difficult to treat cancer. Proceeds will go to much needed sarcoma research and will support the soft tissue investigative research laboratory and its scientists. The live auction will be run by Eli Rodriguez, Sotheby’s Art & Wine Auctioneer. The Nomad and Zuma are donating food. Krug and Dom Perignon are donating champagne, wine, and exclusive prestige experiences, and over 30 internationally renowned artists are donating artwork.
