I grew up thinking “grown up” was a place I was working towards and when I got there, I’d stay there forever. What could be further from the truth? These days, we are clearly learning life is all about change and Numerology explains and demonstrates it best using 9-year cycles. In this system of Numerology called Pythagorean, everything cycles to 9: Personal Cycles and Universal Cycles.
The Universal Cycle is simple to determine – just add the numbers of the year: 2+0+1+9 = 3. So, we are in the 3rd year of the 9-year cycle that began in 2017.
The beginning of the “Personal Cycle” is dictated by the number found by totaling your day, month and year of birth and continuing to add until there is one single digit remaining. My birthday is 1/12/1936. Adding those numbers equals 1949. Add them once again equals 23. Adding once more reduces the compound numbers to a single digit, that digit is 5. This means, I was born into the 5th year of a 9-year cycle. So, the following year was my 6th, then my 7th, 8th and 9th. And onto my first year in a new 9-year cycle. This pattern will continue throughout my life.
Knowing this pattern is the perfect way to plot and plan your future or to understand your past. For instance, if in your 9 year, you clean out everything that needs to go, you are ready to take full advantage of your new beginning. A 9 year is not the time for beginning anything new because chances are that plan, or project will not go where you anticipated. However, it may be helpful in using those experiences and using them as helpful guidance to something bigger and better. If something is leaving, let it go – it may come back in the new cycle in a different form.
2019 = 3 is generally associated with self-expression, creativity and words. As I struggled to understand what this present “3” year has been about, I was reminded that numbers have positive and negative sides like everything else. The positive seems light filled and lifting– the negative, darker and fear filled. So, it occurred to me 3 has indeed been focused on words. But rather than uplifting and inspirational words, a major portion of this year’s words have been attached to darkness, fear, and anxiety. Through social media or wherever all opinions are “out there” being expressed, forwarded and enlarged. Words have tremendous power and when used without discretion or concern they are out there ready to be quoted and enlarged upon. During World War II there was a poster that stated “A slip of the lip can sink a ship”– and it’s still true.
The positive side has been all the wonderful things that are occurring like thousands of trees being planted and young people speaking up and expanding everyone’s consciousness.
Coming up January 1st, 2020 will equal 22/4 one of the complicated Master Numbers. It will focus more on women and peace both represented by the 2 or the opposites – even including gender changes, and sexual confusion. Our lives are built upon our past choices and decisions. We really don’t jump up one day and say, “Everything’s new.” If you back track, you can recognize each choice and decision that got you to exactly to where you presently are. We really are the sum total of all of our experiences, and all are somehow essential to traveling our life path. Understanding the Universal Cycle woven with your own Personal Cycle helps you plan and set realistic goals for your future.
