As a long-time numerologist and author, I find that numerology is unique and amazingly helpful among all other methods for understanding ourselves and our lives. Once I taught classes where students were required to write term papers. One woman wrote that she had learned more about herself in that semester than in years of therapy. And what she had learned was that her birthday added to seven and there were others like her in the world!
This makes total sense to me, as once each of us is born and named, our name and date of birth plot out our entire life plan. Perhaps you’ve heard people speak of “personal years”. These are one part of a larger picture. In the system of Numerology titled Pythagorean, everything cycles to 9. The day, month and year of a birthday forms the longest cycle we have, beginning with birth and ending with death. So, by adding your day, month and year together and reducing them down to a single digit, (which is how Numerology works,) we discover two things: our life lesson and which year of a nine-year cycle we are born into. For example, I was born 1/12/1936. Adding these digits together 1 + 12 + 1936 totals 1949. Add 1+ 9+4 + 6 together = 23; adding further, 2 + 3 = 5. Therefore 5 defines both the year (in the nine-year cycle I was born into) and my Birth-path or life lesson. 5 represents various aspects of freedom, travel, sudden changes/unexpected opportunities and choice. In sequence, the following year totaled 6, then 7, then 8. When I was 4 years old, that nine-year cycle completed. At age 5 therefore, I began a new cycle.
My parents had a difficult marriage. When I was age 5, my father left. We moved up the street so mom could rent out our house, and I began kindergarten. New beginnings and change. The following year was my 2 personal year with my Birth-path/life lesson of 5. Daddy came home, my parents tried harder and we moved back home. 2 = peacemaking, cooperation, and as always, change continued in my life. Having my parents’ full names and birthdays, I am able to see what their life lessons were and have insight into what they were going through personally.
Names also explain many things…including past lives, karma, our life purpose, talents, abilities and is helpful in understanding relationships. In later years, a significant number comes forward that combines our full name at birth and birthday. Called the ‘Attainment’, it focuses all we have been working towards all our life. One aspect of a Numerology reading that I particularly love is that it gives us an appreciation of what our life has/is about, how much we have accomplished and overcome.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., before moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ruth Abrams Drayer lived throughout the Southwest and India – where she was invited to be the Numerologist for the state of Karnataka.
Author, artist, teacher, and intuitive numerologist, her private practice of numerology, spiritual counseling, and coaching includes clients from around the world. Being an artist herself, she loves working with right-brained, adventuresome, spiritual clients. Her numerology is unique because she understands that rather than a scientific study, numbers speak the language of love. (The working title under which her book was written.) Her readings are safe, encouraging and supportive. https://youtu.be/YKGYF8ZkKzk
