for Acne Scars & Age Management

MicroNeedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, has taken the skin care industry by storm. Although this is a treatment that has been in use for a few decades, it is now considered to be one of the most cutting-edge treatments on the market today for restoring the texture and tone of the skin. It can also be more effective than laser treatments. Yes, you read that right!
At the ABQ Skin Care & Acne Clinic, we are changing the game on eliminating acne scars and rejuvenating the skin with our very strategic, and customized MicroNeedling sessions. Each skin condition and scar type are always taken into consideration at the beginning of every session. We do not believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
This is how it works. Our MicroNeedling tool glides over the epidermal layer of the skin to create tiny, micro-punctures in the skin which stimulates elastin and collagen production. This triggers the body’s own natural healing process to begin restoring the micro-injuries and the damaged skin cells responsible for all acne scars such as:
- Ice-pick scars: deep, narrow, pitted scars
- Rolling scars: broad depressions with a sloping edge
- Boxcar scars: broad depressions with sharply defined edges
- Atrophic scars: flat, thin scars or depressed scars (anetoderma)
MicroNeedling also helps to remove red, pink and brown pigmentation, wrinkles, uneven texture, and sun damage. Additionally, our clients experience a noticeable reduction in pore size and firming of the skin.
The recovery time after MicroNeedling is minimal. It leaves the skin looking slightly flushed on the first day, and less each day thereafter. No need to take off time for this treatment and makeup can be worn the following day. In contrast, laser treatments can often take weeks to recover and can feel extremely uncomfortable as well. Moreover, almost any area of the face and body can be MicroNeedled for total skin transformation.
If you choose to have MicroNeedling done, it is important to schedule your treatment with a fully licensed facility to ensure all standards of sanitation and sterilization are being met.
Also, it is imperative to perform MicroNeedling on 100% acne free skin. If any active blemishes are penetrated, this can quickly spread bacteria and detrimentally affect other areas of the skin. If you are still struggling with active acne or a few pesky, consistent blemishes, we suggest you schedule an Initial Consult for our Acne Treatment program. The program identifies your acne triggers and provides a customized acne-fighting skin care regimen to help you achieve acne free skin first.
At ABQ Acne Clinic, we clear acne without the use of antibiotics, topical prescriptions, laser treatments or Accutane. Clearing all stages and types of acne is actually quite easy, when you know the steps. In addition to our Clear Path Skin Products, we now offer a line of acne safe hair products as well.
